Back-up rings are used with static as well as dynamic applications. However, they have no sealing function. Extrusion of O-rings or X-Ring under the influence of presssure should be avoided with the back-up ring. Back-up rings are made from manufacture in various materials.
Back-up can are offered as endless, cut in 30, 45, 60 or 90° or as Z-cut.
