Single acting ASL-seal (slow/static)

Utilizing a helically wound spring in combination with a PTFE seal jacket will ensure a good static seal ability and slow dynamic seal ability.
The helically wound spring has the benefit of having a high spring force at a low compression rate, compared to a seal energized by a V-spring. This makes it more suitable for applications with extreme temperature fluctuations, such as cryogenics.

Advantages:

  • Tight seal in static or slow moving applications
  • Very high chemical resistance, compared to similar seals using rubber O-rings
  • Long shelf life
  • Resistant to wear and tear

Limitations:

  • Operation pressure: Up to 80 MPa (800 bar)
  • Velocity: 4 m/s
  • Temperature: -130°C to 260°C
