Utilizing a strong helically wound spring in combination with a PTFE seal jacket will ensure a good static seal ability and seal ability in both vacuum and cryogenic applications.
The helically wound spring has the benefit of exerting a high spring force at low compression, compared to a seal energized by a V-spring.
Advantages:
- Very high chemical resistance, compared to similar seals using rubber O-rings
- Long shelf life
- Resistant to wear and tear
Limitations:
- Operation pressure: Up to 85 MPa (850 bar)
- Velocity: Only for static applications
- Temperature: -130°C to 260°C
