Using PTFE Guide Tape, compared with other alternatives, has several benefits:

PTFE is a durable, non-elastic and very low-friction material. Compared to metal guides, the PTFE Guide Tape offers a much longer service life. The special properties of PTFE makes lubrication unnecessary, a clear advantage compared to metal guides, which also permits a simpler design.
